With few exceptions, you should find all the clothing you need for backpacking in your own closet. The trick is to select the proper clothing for the trip you intend to take. Here, we will discuss some of the general principles of clothing yourself on the trail. Note that the following clothing list presumes that you are not winter camping. If we decide to go winter camping, you will need to adapt your dress for the occasion.
Priority: While having adequate clothing is a priority, we do not recommend that people go out and buy a special backpacking wardrobe; however, if you decide that backcountry camping is for you, you may want to consider some of your camping needs when you are selecting clothing in the future.
